Synchronicity: When Universes Collide

There are many ways to know that you are growing in consciousness and eventually becoming ONE with Universal Consciousness. One of the surest signs, however, is experiencing an increased occurrence of "synchronicity" in your life.

A simple example of synchronicity might be when you are thinking of a specific person, someone you haven't talked to in a long time, and seemingly out of the blue, that specific person calls you. Or you may be thinking about a certain old movie that hasn't aired in 20 years only to turn on your television and find that particular movie being televised. A more dramatic form of synchronicity might be that you are reading a book and someone says something to you but at that exact same moment, you are reading those same exact words in the book. The number of forms synchronicity can take, are literally countless and infinite.

Since we are all ONE, we are connected in ways known and unknown, seen and unseen. Therefore,it should come as no surprise then that as you get more tuned in to the ONENESS of all things, all things move into undeniable alignment and you experience more and more meaningful synchronistic events. Not only the number of occurrences increase, but the magnitude also increases. You may for example, experience very profound moments wherein the same synchronicity keeps occurring OR the synchronistic events seem to gain greater and greater significance--like dramatic forms of psychic ability. The synchronicities might even begin to look miraculous. As you gain greater clarity of mind, and are more open to synchronicity, you may even start to experience it with other people on the same subject or in the same moment--like "group synchronicities." It's due to events such as these that experiencing synchronicity can sometimes be confusing-especially at first.

Synchronicity is one of those weird, cool, cosmic wonders--like déjà vu. It often utilizes our extra sensory perception (ESP) and various psychic abilities but it is more than merely psychically seeing that something is about to happen. Again, synchronicity means that two or more events that seem insignificant, instead do indeed, have significance-even if not clear to the eyes of the beholder.

Synchronicity is far more that mere coincidence. Coincidence refers specifically to random events that may coincide in some way but do NOT have a greater meaning nor do they have a greater source behind them. Conversely,  synchronicity has some form of consciousness as its guide. These synchronistic events are stemming from some dimension of mind; but from what and/or whose mind?

You are seeing two or more synchronized events because your mind is aligned with two or more dimensions of mind/thought. These two dimensions of mind could be either God's Mind OR the mind of others OR merely various aspects of your own mind, including your ego mind. In any case, when we get in synch with other minds, we begin to see images/reflections/events come together from that alignment. If the thoughts which created the images/reflections/events hadn't come into closer alignment, you would not have noticed them nor seen any significance in their occurrence. Instead, they would have seemed separate and unrelated. As we learn to think as ONE, our mind begins to take two or more images and bring them together, much like a camera might see what appear to be several blurry images and as it focuses, the many become synchronized as ONE. In other words, when we get in synch with Universal Consciousness or Oneness, our lives get into synch and we begin to see everything as related.

The tricky thing is that many of our greatest synchronicities are coming not from Spirit but from our ego. That's right! Our ego is just as capable of manifesting external images of what we want to see, as Spirit is capable of manifesting what we are truly meant to see. When arising from our fear-based ego, synchronicities will reflect images of people or events that we secretly long for, now appearing to be within reach but never permanently attained. Conversely, when synchronicities arise that reflect Spiritual Guidance, they contain messages that affirm and confirm our growth and Oneness with all we could ever have longed for. Synchronicity from Spirit also always conveys feelings of love and fulfillment, rather than fear and emptiness.

Another common hurdle with experiencing synchronicity is when folks make the mistake of looking for a literal meaning to the not-so-literal synchronistic events in their lives. After all, synchronicities, as well as all forms of messages from the mind, are multi-dimensional in their language. Therefore, such signs and messages need to be interpreted as having deeper, symbolic meaning, rather than simple, literal meaning. Further, we are far better off allowing Spirit to show us the deeper meaning to all these signs and synchronicities. It also helps if we do our best to keep the interpretations focused on how these signs might be referring to messages regarding our inner self and not so much about the outside world. If, for example, you have a dream of getting married and then meet an attractive person later that very same day, the message of this synchronicity is perhaps that "you are integrating new and attractive qualities into your inner self" and is not likely about how "you should literally ask that person to marry you." In other words, don't get too carried away with synchronicities, nor take them too seriously.

More important than gaining all the meanings to these experiences, just relax and recognize that, in part, their most important message is merely in showing you that your mind is expanding and connecting at a greater level of Oneness. And yet, if/when you have several dramatic and/or repetitive messages that you are certain should be translated, practice developing discernment, which is an essential part of our growth on the spiritual path and one of the primary tools for getting clear guidance.
